Have I told you how much we love a summer? The sun, the heat, the non-stop parade of beats.
Yes beats! We will be heading to Santa Barbara to enjoy the rays, enjoy the creative and kooky summer solstice parade, and bang the beats.
Solstice 6/21
The Word of Mouth family has been a part of the parade after party for some years now and I (DJ Unagi) will be opening up the event on Saturday. Many of our closest friends and musical influences will be on hand and playing as well. Have I peaked your curiosity yet? PM me if you need a ride.
I am playing a downtempo/midtempo set for the park and a bangin’ breaks & ’stuff’ set for the after-after party. I miss my hommies in the SB and this promises to be a crazy weekend of fun!
Spin Jam
For the uninitiated, Spin Jam is an event going on on the first and third mondays of the month. This is the place to be if you like to hoola hoop, spin poi, staff, play capoeira or just dance around to super tasty beats surrounded by smiling faces and pretty spinning things. Sprayerz 6/26
Next thurs, 6/26, some friends and I will be rocking the Sprayerz night at the Uptown Club in Oakland. If you haven’t been by the space, make sure to come by. This place is awesome! Classy but with that laid back Oaktown vibe, the spot has a huge dancefloor and a great soundsystem, good drinks and cute bartenders, and will have some of the best djs in the Bay mashin’ up the 80s/house/breaks/tech-hop deal for a dancin’ extravanganza. Connectivate 6/27
The Word of Mouth crew has some cool parties brewin’. We’re helping the nice folks at Sera Phi host their final Connectivate event on Fri, 6/27. The lineup looks stellar for this event and this will be the last time, at least for now, you will be able to dance on a floor built entirely of subwoofers. Super neat.
