For nearly a decade, Santa Barbara native & now Bay Area transplant DJ Unagi (formerly DJ Drumatx) has been considered one of California’s best kept secret underground DJs – a true original of the West Coast underground sound. Over the past few years, he has been busy reinventing his outdoor sound to move the underground crowds of San Francisco and beyond.

DJ Unagi was originally known for his sets at the Word of Mouth Full Moon Gatherings.  Those raves held in the mountains above Santa Barbara began in 1999 left an indelible mark on him.  Upon hearing DJ Unagi,  you hear this influence in his mixture of downtempo, nu jazz, glitch-hop, distorted funk, and sometimes old and new school breaks.
